Terms of Service

Last updated: [DATE]

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using Interlude. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Who we are

Interlude is a platform operated by PMA Digital Services (“Interlude,” “we,” “us”) that connects churches, individuals, and organisations (“Clients”) with musicians (“Musicians”) for the purpose of booking musical services. Clients and Musicians are collectively referred to as “Users.”

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on Interlude. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and that you have the authority to act on behalf of your organisation, where applicable.

3. Account registration

You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@interlude.app if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

4. The role of Interlude

Interlude is a marketplace that facilitates connections and transactions between Clients and Musicians. We are not a party to the agreement formed between a Client and a Musician for musical services, and we do not employ Musicians or control the quality, timing, or manner of services provided. Interlude’s role is limited to:

  • Providing a platform for discovery and booking
  • Processing and holding payments in escrow
  • Facilitating dispute resolution between Users
  • Verifying certain identity and payment information

5. Bookings

A booking is confirmed when a Musician accepts a Client’s booking request. Both parties agree to honour confirmed bookings. Details of the event (date, time, location, duration, and fee) as entered at the time of booking form the basis of the agreement between the Client and Musician.

6. Payments and fees

6.1 Payment processing.

All payments on Interlude are processed through our third-party payment processor, Paystack. Interlude does not store your full card or bank details.

6.2 Escrow.

When a Client books a Musician, payment is collected upfront and held by Interlude until the booking is marked complete. Funds are released to the Musician after the Church confirms the service was delivered, or automatically 48 hours after the scheduled event date if no dispute is raised.

6.3 Service fee.

Interlude deducts a commission from the Musician’s payout for each completed booking. The applicable percentage is disclosed to the Musician before they accept a booking. Interlude reserves the right to change its fee structure with 30 days’ notice to Users.

6.4 Cancellations and refunds.

  • If a Church cancels a confirmed booking more than 72 hours before the event, the Church receives a full refund.
  • If a Church cancels within 72 hours of the event, the Musician receives 50% of the agreed fee as a cancellation fee, and the Church receives the remaining 50% refund.
  • If a Musician cancels a confirmed booking at any point, the Church receives a full refund, and repeated cancellations may result in account suspension.
  • If a Musician does not show up for a confirmed booking, the Church receives a full refund and the incident is reviewed for account action against the Musician.

6.5 Disputes.

Either party may report an issue with a booking within 48 hours of the scheduled event date. Reported bookings will have funds frozen pending Interlude’s review. Interlude will make a good-faith determination based on evidence provided by both parties, and its decision on fund release is final.

7. Verification

Interlude may verify Musicians’ identity and bank account details, and may verify Clients’ organisational status, to reduce fraud on the platform. Verification does not constitute a guarantee of a User’s conduct, and Interlude is not liable for disputes arising from a User’s actions.

8. Prohibited conduct

Users agree not to:

  • Circumvent Interlude’s payment system by arranging payment for a booked service outside the platform
  • Provide false information in a profile or booking
  • Use the platform for any unlawful, abusive, or harassing purpose
  • Attempt to manipulate reviews or ratings

Interlude reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including accounts found to be circumventing platform payments.

9. Reviews

Users may leave reviews only for completed, paid bookings. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. Interlude may remove reviews that violate this policy.

10. Limitation of liability

Interlude provides the platform on an “as is” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Interlude is not liable for the conduct, performance, or quality of services provided by Musicians, or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Interlude is limited to the fees paid by you to Interlude in the three months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@interlude.app. Interlude may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other Users.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll notify Users of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

14. Contact
